Leave your message after the beep.
Nifae asked to call his Aunty Dre while we were driving home tonight.
"Aunty Dre, our family's having a bad day. I am am starving, Owen is tired, baby is crying and mommy is yelling."
He hands the phone to Owen who breaks it down basically the same way, with the same sad voice.
Oh, I wonder what she must think when she checks her messages.
Will she know that Nifae is starving because he CHOSE not to eat his dinner that Aunty Maile made him (Creamy mushroom pork chops, rice and corn. It was SO YUM!) .
Will she know that Owen only SAID he is tired because I told him to grab all the trash from the floor and he didn't want to .
Will she know the Lilia is crying because Owen (whom seems to finds enough energy) is pulling out her hair clips.
Will Aunty Dre know that I was in fact yelling. Do I need to explain why????
I hope she reads this post shortly after checking her messages that her two sulky nephews left her. It's true, "our family is having a bad day".

Relections of Christ convo
The boys and I were watching that video Reflections of Christ last week. (per Steph's blog:)
The boys had so many questions that I had to continue to pause and explain the different scenes and images. I also had to suppress my urge to snip, "JUST WATCH !" I'm still learning this patient mom thing.
ANYWAY...
It got to the part where Christ is surrounded my the men and looks beaten down. Then it goes to the Cross.
Anyway, Owen was horrified.
Owen, "Why the being so mean?"
"Why they want to kill Him?"
"Why they do that? Jesus Christ is a good guy."
"THAT SO SAD!"
I realized that I have never had a conversation with him about this part of Christ's life in detail.
As I explained that He was scared but He knew what was going on and knew that Heavenly Father would help him. He wanted to do it for all of us so that we could live with our Father in Heaven again. (trying to figure out how and what info to give a 3 year old).
Owen, "that makes me happy. He so nice for us."
"Those mean guys not supposed to!"
This conversation took me by surprise a little bit. I was wondering if maybe I shouldn't have shown him this video and if he was too young. It was interesting and touching to see this through his eyes for the first time. Reminds me of how I should feel and be more reverent about what our Lord and Savior did for us.
There are times when motherhood is difficult but this is one moment that was a precious gift to me. Thank you Owen for reminding me of all that Christ went though for me.
I love Him (Christ) and him (Owen).

Living Scripture Video Convo
I over heard this conversation while standing in the hall listening to the boys play in their room. I'm guessing that Owen found one of our Living Scripture Videos.
Owen~ "This show is boring!"
Nifae~" No, it's not. It's about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father."
Owen~" Oh yeah, I like dem guys."
Nifae~" That's the one where Jesus kills him own self for all of us."
Owen~" killed. oh yeah, that's sad."
Nifae~ "it's ok cause He still lives with Heavenly Father."
Sounds like I need to go over some of the details but I am so happy that they are gaining their own knowledge of Christ. This little convo made me so happy. I REALLY hope that when they do find it boring that they can always remember the importance of Christ in our lives.
Just had write this down so when they are teenagers I can make them read it over and over when they try to skip church or other shenanigans!

Holiday Traditions
Every year for Christmas my sisters Carrie and Tonya send my kids something special.
My sister Carrie send them advent calendars. The ones with the chocolates in them. She is always way on it so they get here right on or before the 1st of Dec.
But we love when she gets them out a little late cause then we get to eat up more that one chocolate to "catch up". This year, it got here right on time. :( hahahah, just joking.
There is nothing like getting a package with your name on it in the mail!!!!
The kids could hardly pose for the picture. They wanted to rip into it and get that first choc. in their mouth PRONTO!
Even Lills knew what was going on and couldn't wait to get hers open.
My sister Tonya has picked up the tradition from my Great Aunt Lucille. She sends the kids an Tree Ornament every year.
Oh they just wanted to get it out of the box and get it on the tree.
They were kinda bugged when I made Lills get in the picture. They just wanted to Open Open Open.
This years ornaments were so beautiful. They were all Peace themed ornaments from Pottery Barn.
The super crazy thing is that they matched my tree PERFECT, this year. The 2 peace signs were all glittery and the other was a white wreth with a bird holding a flag that says "peace".
Uh,,, glittery, silver, white and feathers??? Thanks totally my tree this year ( See earlier post). COOL!!!
WhAT awesome sisters I have! Thank you so much for loving my kids!
A few days later I found this:
NOT COOL!!!!
Wanna guess what little monster got to this???? OWEN!
Grrrr! As he described it, he "Open dems up and eated all of dems yummy nummies.... all of dems." While doing a sort of Spirit Fingers action. It about killed him to see his siblings gobble up their next chocolate that night. Oh well, that's wotcha get!

Convo at the end of a great night:
After a fun night at the Dickens Festival and dinner with all the cousins, we got home and got ready for bed.
Owen was getting out of his clothes and said,
"I widdy miss my daddy. Do you?"
Me~"Yes, I miss him a lot."
O is thinking... thinking....
O~"I widdy miss Jesus Trist (Christ), too."
Nifae~"I don't cause I have a picture of him in my room."
O~ "Oh, Yeah!"
This kinda stuff melts my heart. I remember Nifae telling me that a few years ago. It's so sweet.
I wonder if when they are really really young they feel so close to him and as they grow they come more aware that it takes more effort to be close to Christ.
Could be reading more into it but I am happy that Christ is a real person in their life along with their daddy!
Couldn't ask for more!
